American family

 After talk with some american student, I know more about american family. All of american i talked with thier family have at least two children, one of them have 5 kids in her family. It's very different from my country. In china, we have one child policy which to keep our population not raising too fast. In american, many family have at least two kids, it's hard for me to imagine who would their live be if the have that many kids. Another thing which I think is interesting is American take christmas a very big deal. All family member no matter how far away they live will try their best to come back home and get together with their family. It's just like something we do in China. Every chinese all family member will get together and spend few days with each other, it's a traditional thing in china just like christmas in american.

Minorities

In china, we have 56 ethnic groups. Although there are so many ethnic groups, some of these ethnic groups’ populations are small. The han people is the biggest ethnic groups in China, more than 90% people in china is han people. So for other ethnic groups, we think they are minorities. The second large ethnic group is zhuang people which population is about 18 millions. But some ethnic groups’ populations are less than 10 thousand. Each ethnic group has different culture, and most of them still keep their culture in their daily life. Government gives minorities really good treatment and policy. No matter in education or living. A kid who is minorities is easier to go to university because they can have extra score in their collage enter exam. And government will pay some of their study fee from high school. Government also will give money to every minorities family every month. For now, I think most of minorities people are having a good life in China.

GUNS

 Guns are always have grreat attractive to boys. I like guns. But in my country we can't have any gun. I did see lots of American have gun in their home.  I think that is something really cool to keep a gun in their house.
 I think governmenr don't let us keep gun in our house is reasonable. In china, Some time people may solve problem by violence. Once someone who have a gun do this thing, it's a sure thing that people will die. It's for our safty gonvernment don't let us keep guns.

Why Football is part of American culture?

Since I came to American, I found American are crazy about football. I can see football every where. People watch football in cafe or thier dorm. They wear their teams cloths when their team are goiong to have a game. Football is party of their life.
Why American are so crazy about football? First, I think American like things which  big, loud, and strong. The football player are big strong and when they playing football they run very quick and hit each other very hard.  Second, football maybe a tool for American to communicate beacuse people who like the same time is easy to get together and make friends.

For these two reason, I thinking that's why American are so crazy about football.

Walking tour of Eau Claire

This building was designed by Purcell and Elmslie of Minneapolis, the mostprolific architectural firm working in the tradition of Frank Lloyd Wright’sPrairie School. It is an example of that firm’s work in the area of smalland relatively inexpensive residences. Purcell and Elmslie built numeroussuch homes in the newly developing middle class neighborhoods ofsouthwestern Minneapolis in the decade before World War I, most notablythe Purcell-Cutts House (1913).

The two-story colossal columns, which support a pediment-like gable, aretypical of this style of architecture. The building has remained essentiallyunchanged except for the addition of a full second-story balcony on theLake Street side. Dewitt Clark settled in Eau Claire in 1862 and was abanking partner of Orrin H. Ingram. Clark died in 1882, and his wifeNancy later built this house. In 1919, the house was sold to H.D. Davis.

what I learn.

We have a really meaningful Sunday last weekend. It’s really great experience for me. We work together as a team. We learn how to work faster when we are a group. Standing close make we become closer. We learn how to cooperate without saying anything. These activities really make us become a better team. It will be helpful when we work together in a group in future study. It’s really a good experience. For myself I learn how to work as group and learn how to hold myself in balance.

My definition of culture

Culture is something with us for all our lifes. We saw culture, heard culture and learned about culture since we were kids. The food I eat, the cloths I wear, the language I speak, even the way I born is party of my cultuer. Culture things is every where in our daily lifes. Every day you weakup the food you eat and the things you do is part of your culture. Maybe some time you can't fell that culture is every where when you are in your own country. But onec you leave your country you will fell you are living in a compelely different world. Every thing is different. That make me know that the life we have in country is our culture. My definition of cultuer is the life you have in you own country, every thing is party of your culture

different life in USA.

     It seem to be two weeks since I  came to USA. it's not a long time but so many things happened in these two weeks.  I know America better than before. America no longer a mystery country for me now.
     After a week study in American university i found so many different between chinese university and american university. In american university we can always ask our professors and the professors are always happy to help us. Professors are not come to tell us how to do but come to help us to do it by ourself. In china, the only thing we can do is just listern to professor and remember what they say.We can also arrange our class by ourself , we can choose different section of class in american university. It will never happen in china.In china school will arrange your class for you and the only you can do is go to class.
    I think I am having a differet life in America which is contorl by myself. It the most different thing between china universtiy and american university.
